Your profile
This is where the deep work lives. Pick what you're actually working on — as specific as you can get — and you'll show up on the maps where the right people are looking.
Causes I care about
Start broad, then go deeper. Ticking something opens what sits underneath it. A few precise tags beat a lot of vague ones — they're what put you on the specialist maps. You don't have to tick a heading to pick something under it: if one topic matters to you but the whole field doesn't, take the topic on its own.
Where you'll be listed
You'll appear on the map for each of these topics, and on every map above them — tag yourself with Insect Protein and you show up on the food waste and climate maps too. Where a topic has its own website, it's named beside the chip.
Anything not covered above
Free text, for the things the list doesn't have yet. These help people find you in search. If something here matches a real topic, we'll offer to upgrade it into a proper tag.
Your council area
You belong to your council area's community on the map. Until you choose, we place you in the council that holds most of your postcode's people. Some postcodes sit across two councils, so pick yours if it is different.
Where the map opens
Your home patch. The map will centre here when you arrive — unless you follow a link that names somewhere else.
Leave this and the map picks a sensible distance for the kind of place you chose — a whole country, or one council area. Move it to see more or less around you.
Hide my profile
Takes your card off the map, out of search and off the groups you belong to. Your account, causes, groups and ripple are kept, and you can come back whenever you like.
What others see
Everything is public by default. Turn a block off and it disappears from your card and from the public API — not just visually hidden.
Your sign-in email
The address you use to get in — by link, or through Google or LinkedIn. Changing it needs a confirmation click, so nothing moves until you say so from the inbox itself.
Hide or delete my account
Need a break? Hide your account and your card leaves the map until you come back. Or delete it for good.
This will permanently delete your account and all your data, and your ripple will be rolled up.
Your card, causes, saved profiles, actions, Quick Chats and sign-in are deleted and cannot be brought back. The people who joined through you stay on the map and count in the ripple of whoever invited you. Any groups you look after go back to unclaimed, so they stay on the map for others.
Are you sure you want to leave?
What you'd like to do
Three ways to go further, each with training behind it. Apply for any — they're not exclusive, and you can hold all three.
My Quick Chats
Short 15 minute video meets with other changemakers. People request a chat from your card; you choose who to accept. Your email is only shared once you say yes. This also shows on the pages and embedded widgets of communities you support.
Why we ask after each chat
We don't rate people. We ask three quick questions so the map can learn what a good chat looks like: whether it happened, whether you'd meet again, and what you got from it. Your answers stay private and are never shown as a number. If you both say you'd meet again, we'll offer to reconnect you. If someone repeatedly doesn't turn up, we'll quietly check in with them. Anything you choose to share publicly, you'll be asked first.
Orgs, teams and communities you belong to
These show as chips on your card, and put you on the map when someone browses the group. Joining sends a request — the group approves it before it appears.
Recommend an organisation that isn't listed
Know a purpose-driven organisation or community that belongs on the map? Only recommend ones you judge to be net-positive, not extractive, and that you have a genuine connection with. We'll reach out to them. Please never send unsolicited email.
If you personally know someone there, send them this yourself. Only if you know them - never unsolicited email.
Listings you manage
Organisations, teams and communities you created or were given admin of.
My Vault contributions
Everything you have added to the Vaults, and where each one has got to. Only you and the moderators can see this list.
Your link
A short name people can remember, instead of the long one. Lowercase letters and numbers, hyphens inside, 3 to 25 characters. Change it later and the old one keeps working, so nothing you have already shared breaks.
Your poster
An A4 poster with your own QR codes on it, eight of them to tear off. Everyone who joins by scanning one shows up in your ripple. The challenge: print 20, find 10 local notice boards and pin two at each. Ask at the desk first - many places like to stamp or approve posters.
Your codes open . The QR image on its own suits an email signature or the last slide of a talk.
Invite a friend
The simplest way to be a changemaker: bring someone you know onto the map. Anyone who joins through your link shows up in your Ripple. Only ever invite people you have a genuine personal relationship with — never send unsolicited email.
Promote your groups
The organisations and communities you look after. Each has its own invite link: anyone who joins through it is counted for that group, and also shows in your own ripple below, because a group's link is looked after by a person. The two numbers describe the same people from different angles, not two separate crowds.
What you tell people
These four lines and your about text are what someone reads when they open your card. Offering is the one that shows on the card itself.
Your socials
LinkedIn first, then the six that render as icons on your card. All of these can also be edited from your card, whichever screen you are on.
Your name and where you are
The name on your card and the postcode it sits in. We never ask for a street address.
Your photo
Events and jobs you have posted
Listings with a closing date. They leave the map on their own when they expire, so nothing here needs tidying up. Running events needs the Event Host or Community Partner role; posting a paid or volunteer role is for partners.
My Actions
Small acts that make care visible. Tick an action when you have done it. Some tick themselves when you do them on the map; the rest work on trust. Each one counts once, and every one counts towards your place.
My impact activity journey
A private note to yourself about where you are up to. Nobody else sees any of this, nothing is checked, and nothing is scored. Its only job is to let you notice which of the three has gone quiet.
My ripple
How I got here
Please note there is no money to be earned, only visibility and a sharing of good things.
Saved profiles
People, groups, events and jobs you kept for later. Private in both directions: nobody is told you saved them, or that you starred them. Star the ones you keep coming back to and they stay at the top.
My activity
Every change to your card and profile, and who made it. Yours to inspect: if a moderator ever edits your account while helping you, it shows here.
This log started on the day the feature shipped, so it cannot show changes made before then. Claimed links are the exception - those were already recorded and have been filled in.
My tickets
Cases our team has opened about your account, usually after you asked for help. You cannot reply here yet - answer the email thread and we will update this.
