Community networking, not social networking

Good people are everywhere. Let’s connect them.

It’s easy to feel gloomy about a world that leaves us anxious, overwhelmed and divided. Look closer and good work is happening in every corner of it. It’s time we could all see it.

Let’s make it visible.

Meet people who care, share and do. Free forever.

Why it still feels like a mess

It isn’t that nobody cares. It’s that caring is hard to find.

  • The problems are complexNo single person can hold the whole picture, so it’s hard to know where to start.
  • Our efforts are scatteredThousands of groups are doing good work alone, mostly invisible to each other.
  • Life is busyWanting to help is easy. Finding the time and the way in is the hard part.
Efforts are scattered and near invisible.
The map

The groups are already here. Now let’s add the people.

Starting in Victoria, Australia, we’ve been mapping the organisations and community groups already doing good work. Every person who joins gives the map a human face, and shows what a postcode cares about most. Explore it now, then join.

As it grows, you’ll see what your community cares about most, and how that compares with nearby towns, other states and overseas. Always totals, never individuals.

Join the mapOpen to everyone. Every pin helps show what’s possible.

Joining also puts you on our local community sites, like Food Waste Victoria, Electrify Victoria, Repair Cafes Belgium, Men’s Sheds Sydney, Rotary NZ, Polio NSW and Wildlife Rescue Australia, but only for the causes you choose.

Know a charity, community group or for-purpose organisation doing great work?
Nominate them before 28 November for a share of our US$500,000 Tile It Forward giveaway.

So who pays?

There isn’t a catch. There’s a sponsorship program.

On 1 December we launch Tile It Forward, the sponsorship program that pays for all of this, with half of the purchase price donated to charity.

Sponsorships are discreet, with one per postcode and only a few for each local cause. Every sponsor is a qualified organisation doing good work, so you’ll never be bombarded with ads. You’ll just see more of the good around you.

Every square is a sponsor tile. Each one carries an organisation’s logo and links to its website. Every tile is valued at US$25, a postcode tile or a larger tile.

The Big Giveaway pays tiles forward to nominated organisations for free, giving them exposure right through to 1 January 2030.

From 1 December, the remaining tiles open up. They raise money for charities and shine a light on local organisations doing good. An organisation can take a tile for itself, or a supporter can pay one forward for them, to help bring in more supporters, donations, volunteers or customers.
