15 minutes to meet people who care
Free, online and every week. Say your name, where you live and one thing you care about, and leave with one small action and at least one new connection. Sometimes it's a small group, sometimes it's just you and Rob. Either way, it's 15 minutes well spent.
When
Times are Melbourne time.
How it works
- Open the Google Meet link a minute or two before the time. Rob lets you in.
- Everyone says their name, where they live and one thing they care about. Camera on if you can, but it's fine if not.
- Rob shares one small action for the week, and you can share one too.
- If you're not on the map yet, you'll see how to add yourself, so the people you just met can find you again.
One-on-one Quick Chats
Would you like a quick chat with one person, someone nearby or further afield who cares about the same things? Turn on Quick Chat on your card. People on the map who are open to a chat show a green Quick Chat pill on their card, and you can find them all with the Quick Chat On filter above the map's search.
- Turn it on. Open your card on the map, or My Quick Chats in your dashboard, and switch Quick Chat on. Adding your LinkedIn helps people say yes.
- Ask. On someone's card, press Quick Chat and say in a sentence or two why you'd like to talk. Requests need a LinkedIn verified card, you can have up to 5 waiting at a time, and they expire after 14 days.
- They decide. They get an email and choose to accept or decline in My Quick Chats.
- Meet. If they accept, you each see the other's email address, and you organise a 15 minute video call between yourselves.
- Afterwards. Three short private questions on how it went help keep Quick Chats friendly and useful.
Why it works
One person changes everything
Most people who care feel like they're the only one. Meeting even one other person nearby who cares about the same thing makes it far more likely you'll do something about it.
Small and regular
Fifteen minutes is easy to fit in, and the same times every week mean you can drop in whenever suits. No sign-up form, no commitment.
Leave with a next step
Every chat ends with one small, doable action for the week, and a face or two to share how it went next time.
